The Mleko Engineering Company serves clients throughout Florida from our office near Orlando. Craig Mleko is a licensed professional engineer and is the principal and owner of the Mleko Engineering Company. His early work experience includes carpentry, roofing, painting and general construction. After serving an enlisted tour in the U.S. Navy, he received an NROTC scholarship and attended the University of Michigan, obtaining a B.S.E. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He then served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. After leaving active duty, he entered the structural engineering profession. Much of our experience has involved construction management. Projects included the structural repair, restoration, and waterproofing of both large and small structures including condominium buildings, parking garages, homes, etc. This work provided experience in numerous building repair techniques and detailed insight into the possible effects of weathering and water intrusion. We have years of experience in building inspections. This work involves both new construction and repairs to existing buildings (including high rise commercial buildings, single and multi-family homes, etc.) and various other structures (including towers, shoring, retaining walls, piles, grade beams, etc.) Close attention to detail and communicating clearly with design engineers, local authorities, and contractors ensures that these construction and repair projects are completed in accordance with the permitted plans, specifications, and building code. Our experience also includes residential structural design. We have developed numerous structural plans and detailing for various single and multi-family homes, club houses and other structures. This work often requires close coordination with plans examiners, inspecting officials, contractors, and other engineers or architects. Our work also includes forensic engineering, which is the investigation and determination of the cause and origin of structural or other damage. In this capacity, we are often asked to provide a viable, cost effective repair or solution to the problem at hand. Craig Mleko is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and currently serves as director on the board of the Florida Structural Engineers Association (Central Florida Chapter). He is also a standard building inspector licensed in the State of Florida.
