  The links below discuss several problems that may occur with a Florida home.  Two of the more common categories of problems are cracks and moisture.  A completely organized presentation of this material is difficult due to the multiple variables that surround any given concern.  These variables include but are not limited to: Due to the various circumstances and factors which may surround a given issue, establishing the cause and origin of a particular condition within reasonable certainty usually requires an on-site inspection by a qualified professional.  With that said, research should provide an interested party with a better understanding of the structures and finishes that may be involved, and perhaps present possibilities as to the cause and origin of a particular concern. The information found below is intended to supplement research into just a few of the many concerns which may arise with a home.  Obviously, not all components or concerns are mentioned here, and those that are mentioned are not discussed exhaustively.
